In celebration of the International Coffee Day, the Consulate-General of Brazil in Sydney is hosting a business breakfast in Darling Quarter, Sydney. This year, the International Coffee Organisation has chosen Coffee Price Levels as the theme for International Coffee Day, focusing on the economic reality of the coffee sector – from the producer to the final consumer.
As the largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world, Brazil has long been associated with excellence and sustainability from bean to cup. Economic sustainability of coffee producers has always been a key element of Brazilian policies for the coffee industry. Due to the efficiency of Brazilian producers, even low international prices are still profitable and economically sustainable. A relatively new development is the growing presence of high-quality specialty coffees from Brazil in the international market. At the occasion, Brazilian coffee suppliers will present their specialty coffees to an audience of coffee roasters, importers, businesspeople and members of the press.
